Subject: Error "Invalid Process ID Passed by Interrupt..."
Date: October 9, 1990

PROBLEM: A customer would get the message "Invalid process id passed
by interrupt procedure to kernel" every time they went into
installation from NETGEN. This was with ELS II v2.12. They
tried Advanced NetWare v2.15 and got the same error.
SOLUTION: They had an Everex Step 386 which comes with a Viewpoint VGA
board installed. This board has an autosensing capability
that allows it to determine whether it's in an 8 or 16 bit
slot. These are jumpers 7 and 8 on the board. They had it
set to a 16 bit slot mode. They had to set it to 8 bit and
put it in an 8 bit slot and the drive installed fine after
that.
They also reported problems with these machines when used as
workstations. The characters on the screen would gradually
disappear until the screen went entirely blank. They would
do a clear screen (CLS) and all the characters would
re-appear. By disabling the autosensing, the problem was
solved.
